Are you an experienced legal professional with a background in infrastructure projects? Our client, a leading utilities company, is seeking a dynamic and skilled Senior Legal Counsel to join their team in East Sussex. This is a fantastic opportunity to be involved in critical infrastructure projects and provide key legal support in a growing and essential sector.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide legal advice and support on a variety of high-end infrastructure projects within the utilities sector.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate project contracts and agreements, with particular expertise in JCT and NEC contracts.
  • Ensure compliance with public procurement regulations and assist in navigating complex public sector procurement frameworks.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to manage legal risks and ensure smooth execution of infrastructure projects.
  • Advise on regulatory matters affecting the utilities sector and help navigate complex legal frameworks.
  • Support the business in developing legal strategies to manage project-related challenges and risks.

Requirements:

  • UK-qualified Solicitor or Barrister with project experience within the infrastructure sector, with a minimum of 8 years expedience.
  • Ideally have experience JCT, NEC contracts, and public procurement processes.
  • Expertise in reviewing, drafting, and negotiating infrastructure-related contracts.
  • Proven ability to manage legal risks in large-scale projects and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
