Tony Alan is partnering on an exclusive basis with a renowned and growing organisation based in East Sussex to help them recruit a part time People Business Partner on a fixed term contract for 12 months. This National organisation is committed to creating a fantastic place to work and believe their staff are the heart of their business. This position is being offered on a part time basis, 25 to 30 hours weekly across 4 to 5 days. There is the option to work from home once a week.

As the People Business Partner you will report to the People Director and will work closely with the management teams to provide people support with particular emphasis on proactive management and employment relations issues. There are circa 310 employees in your business area.

This is a pivotal role, where such duties will include:

  • Supporting managers with varying cases to include grievance, disciplinary, capability and absence management.
  • Advising on a range of employment law issues
  • Providing advice on maternity, paternity, parental leave, shared parental leave and flexible working.
  • Attending meetings as a trusted advisor and note taker.

Whilst the People Business Partner will have a large focus towards employee relations, you will work closely with the Learning and Development team to identify training needs in the business area, recognise high performing employees to support their growth and progression as well as providing guidance to underperforming members and implementing performance capability policy if required. You will also assist the Recruitment Team with shortlisting and interviewing potential new employees and acting as a brand ambassador, promoting the company’s aims and values. In addition, you will assist the People, Payroll and Learning team to ensure the overall goals are achieved.

To be successful in this role you will have proven experience working as a People Business Partner or Advisor, have an excellent understanding of employment law principles and be confident in managing varying employment relations issues. It is essential you can use your own initiative to make decisions, have the ability to empathise and influence at all levels and work collaboratively. CIPD Would be desirable.
