Clinical Pharmacist – NHS Hospital in Sussex

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide expert clinical pharmacy services across various hospital departments, including inpatient and outpatient settings.
  • Conduct medication reviews, ensuring safe, effective, and evidence-based drug therapy for all patients.
  • Work closely with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to optimise medication regimens and improve patient outcomes.
  • Undertake clinical checks and participate in ward rounds to offer pharmacological advice and guidance.
  • Support the prescribing and dispensing process for complex patients, including those with chronic conditions, critical care needs, and complex medication regimens.
  • Provide education and training to other healthcare professionals on safe and effective medication use.
  • Participate in audits and quality improvement initiatives to maintain high standards of pharmaceutical care.
  • Ensure compliance with NHS policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Requirements:
  • GPhC registration (essential).
  • Experience as a Clinical Pharmacist within the NHS or hospital setting (preferred).
  • Strong clinical knowledge of pharmacology, therapeutics, and medicine management in an acute care setting.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Ability to assess and review complex medication regimens and make evidence-based recommendations.
  • A commitment to ongoing professional development and maintaining current knowledge of clinical guidelines and best practices.
