Immediate opportunity for a Software Engineer from a hands-on engineering background to join a specialist engineering company who provide highly accurate and cost-effective systems for a variety of aerospace, automotive, defence and motorsport applications. We are also open to a Junior level Software Engineer.

You will be focusing on aerodynamic test equipment for wind tunnel testing as well as supplying state of the art test and robotic equipment for a myriad of other complex engineering applications.

Software Engineer

£30-70k + 20% Annual Bonus.

The role will involve working within the engineering team to support existing projects and to drive through the development of new, cutting edge solutions.

You will utilise your controls software and electronic skills to build systems for leading corporations in the UK, USA & China.

Software Engineer - Requirements

  • Bachelor degree preferred
  • Knowledge of modern high-level programming languages ie; Delphi/C++/C# ESSENTIAL
  • Experience of servo motor / motion control
  • Ability to interpret various electrical drawings/documents e.g. I/O schedules
  • Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
  • Confident communicator, both written and verbal - ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders
  • Demonstrate potential to grow into a management position
  • Knowledge of engineering lifecycle and business process
  • Any additional ability with PLC software helpful

There will be an element of international travel for this role to commission equipment on client sites. Depending on projects we expect this to be c10-20% per year.

 

We are not able to consider Graduate VISA’s for this position. You MUST hold a UK passport. If you have Settled status but are happy to apply for a UK passport, this is also ok. This is to obtain the relevant level of Security Clearance.

 

Minimum office hours are 10:00 – 16:00 Monday to Thursday inclusive, and 10:00 – 13:00 on Fridays.  The company provides an excellent profit share scheme
