AIRFREIGHT Operation Coordinator

Salary: £33,000 to £38,000 (dependent on experience)

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Freight Forwarding Coordinator to join our dynamic team on a permanent, dayshift basis. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled professional with a strong background in airfreight and freight forwarding to take on a key role within our company.

• Daily Airfreight Tasks: Manage both import and export operations, including the preparation of quotations, shipping documentation, customs clearances, and invoicing clients.
• Customs Declarations: Process customs declarations using CNS, Destin8, Descartes software, with experience in CDS being highly desirable.
• Shipment Planning: Investigate and plan optimal shipment routes, considering factors such as cost, transit times, and the nature of goods.
• Rate Negotiations: Negotiate transportation rates to ensure top-tier service while maximizing profitability.
• Documentation: Ensure all shipping documentation complies with customs, insurance, and packing requirements.
• Trade Compliance: Stay updated on international trade regulations, political factors, and legislation that may affect freight movements.
• Customer Focus: Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers, providing regular updates and handling any queries or issues that arise in a professional, calm manner.
• Customs Brokerage: Act as a customs broker, navigating complex regulations to ensure smooth shipment processing.
• Resource Management: Efficiently manage resources to meet customer objectives and deadlines.

• Essential:
  • Proven experience within the freight forwarding industry (airfreight focus).
  • Methodical thinker with excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Strong IT skills and confident communication abilities.
  • Self-motivated and resourceful with the ability to organise and manage your own workload.
• Desirable:
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar role.
