Functional Skills TutorLocation- HebburnFull time- PermanentPertemps are thrilled to be working with a "Good" rated Ofsted training provider based in the North East. We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Functional Skills tutor to contribute to the growth and development of the current learners on programme. The role of the Functional Skills Maths and English Tutor involves delivering education, training, and assessment while ensuring the well-being and progress of students, meeting administrative requirements, and achieving performance targets.The responsibilities of the Functional Skills Tutor:
  • Deliver high quality and inclusive teaching and learning sessions both face to face and remote, 1-2-1 and in groups when required.
  • Complete and use initial assessment results to ensure learning needs are met.
  • Liaison with employers (where needed) on the development of training programmes to satisfy employer. requirements and add value to learners.
  • Monitor learner progress to ensure learning continues and learners achieve in a timely manner.
  • To support the achievement of KPI’s, business performance, and contractual targets for learner retention and success rates.
  • Work closely with the Quality and Compliance Team to ensure paperwork associated with the programme is completed to a high standard within required timescales, and that systems and processes are followed and are in line with contractual deadlines.
  • Promote Safeguarding and Prevent, British values, Maths and English in all sessions.
  • Deliver additional sessions and one to one support where required to ensure all learners can succeed.
  • Track and record learner progress ensuring that accurate and reliable information on predicted achievement and success rates are readily available.
The qualifications/requirements of the Functional Skills Tutor:
  • Have experience delivering English and Maths to groups of learners and individuals from a range of backgrounds.
  • Have full teaching qualification - PGCE, PCET, DTLLS
  • Have a Recognised Assessor award: D32/D33, A1, TAQA or CAVA.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • An understanding of different learning styles and how to differentiate through various teaching methods.
  • Knowledge and experience of teaching and learning strategies.
  • Excellent organisational, IT and administrative skills.
  • Full, clean driving licence and use of a vehicle must be flexible with travel. (business insurance is compulsory)
