Job Title: Purchasing Coordinator

Location: Mytholmroyd, West Yorkshire

Salary: 22-24K

Start Date: Immediately (flexible for notice periods)

We are a well-established import and distribution company seeking to expand our purchasing team and are looking for an experienced candidate to support the day-to-day operations of all aspects of procurement. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and hardworking individual to build a long-term career within a friendly and growing business. The role involves coordinating purchasing and overseeing the supply chain process for all materials, goods, and services needed to meet customer requirements.

Duties

  • Assist in purchasing materials, goods, and services to meet customer order requirements
  • Place and manage purchase orders based on requisitions or customer contracts
  • Liaise with marketing and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of label artwork
  • Determine customer requirements before shipping products
  • Ensure product deadlines are met, approvals are obtained, and stock quality is maintained
  • Arrange for sample production when necessary
  • Organize, follow up, and monitor logistics for all purchase orders until goods are delivered
  • Manage and authorize relevant documentation (invoices, certificates) ensuring full product traceability
  • Update systems, document processes, and provide necessary stock documentation
  • Maintain strong supplier relationships and resolve any outstanding issues
  • Collaborate with the purchasing team leader to create new stock codes in the purchasing management system

Skills and experience

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience.
  • Initiative, work ethic and attention to detail will be highly regarded.
  • Ability to work unsupervised and under pressure
  • A team player
  • Strong organisational skills with proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Analytical skills
  • Self-motivated and ambitious
  • Willingness to learn
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • A good negotiator
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, and the ability to effectively communicate
  • Relevant GCSE with English and Maths
