Quality Assurance Manager

Purpose of role:

  • To ensure that the processes on site at Vitrition are consistently carried out in compliance with the requirements of the Quality Management System.
  • To ensure that products manufactured and packed by Vitrition are safe and legal and in compliance with the product specification.
  • To assist in the proactive development of the Quality Management system ensuring opportunities for continual improvement are identified, investigated and, where relevant, implemented.

Key Responsibilities

  • To develop and manage the Quality Management System.
  • To continually develop and manage the Vitrition site operations against those documented in the Quality Management System reporting on areas of compliance, non-compliance and to identify areas of improvement.
  • To positively manage the QA team, leading by example and creating a multi skilled efficient Quality team.
  • To inspect and sign off completed works order documentation ensuring products manufactured and packed on site comply with the agreed specification.
  • To manage the internal audit schedule, ensuring all scheduled audits are completed in line with the designated frequency, ensuring audits are documented and that any corrective actions are closed out efficiently.
  • To manage each quality incident of consumer complaints, non-conformance, deviation, ensuring each incident is fully investigated.  To maintain the complaints files and complete trend analysis, communicating findings to key personnel.
  • To explore opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • To lead the HACCP team working with the team to manage all quality and critical control points.
  • To work with the Production Manager to develop a culture that is committed to continual improvement.
  • To maintain and build customer confidence in the Quality of Vitrition product and process.

KPI’s

  • To ensure good standards of hygiene are continually maintained and improved across the site
  • To maintain certification against the BRC Global Standard for Food Safety.
  • To maintain customer approvals and compliance with agreed customer standards.
  • To professionally manage quality incidents including those of non-conformance and consumer complaints ensuring actions taken are efficient and effective reducing the number of Quality incidents.
