Senior Mechanical Engineers - Glasgow

Are you looking to join a successful and growing company? Morson Talent are working alongside their client to recruit a Permanent Senior Mechanical engineer based in Glasgow. This opportunity offers Competitive salary, great benefits, pension, and career progression.

Flexible site working patterns (2/3 days on site every 2/3 weeks) can be discussed.


NTSP is a 7 year framework, with the option of a further 3 years, that will deliver specialist nuclear technical services valued between £250-million to £400-million to support DIO, Navy Command and other MOD organisations.

The framework will support the Clyde Infrastructure Programme (CIP) and wider Royal Navy and defence requirements. Its primary focus will be on delivering the refurbishment and upgrade of critical infrastructure at HMNB Clyde.

Qualifications / Experience:

Bachelors degree in mechanical engineering essential

Detailed knowledge of standards, regulations, codes and directives and how they should be applied

Proven knowledge of the theories, principles, practices and techniques applicable to mechanical design.

Strong knowledge in the production of Technical Files for new products / plant and equipment

Detail design knowledge of mechanical mechanisms

Knowledge of relevant drawing standards

3 years Relevant experience in the Industry

Prepares and supervises the preparation of mechanical engineering designs, drawings, specifications, schedules, quantity and cost estimates for a wide range of new construction and maintenance improvement projects.

Responsibilities


Prepares and supervises the preparation of mechanical engineering designs, drawings, specifications, schedules, quantity and cost estimates for a wide range of new construction and maintenance improvement projects.

Maintaining the content and configuration of the reference design documentation of extant assets through-life

Management of the design development through the whole design lifecycle (requirements development, drawings, calculations, specifications, and reports) for both new and modified equipment

Specifying replacement equipment/components and supporting the production of configuration documentation for permanent modifications.

Supporting implementation of new designs (Factory Acceptance Testing, supporting commissioning activities).

Supporting asset conditions surveys and producing condition reports / fault-finding on existing assets.

Periodic reviews of maintenance regimes and activities

Checking of others work ensuring that design deliverables are produced to a high standard and compliant with all relevant internal and client procedures.

Must be able to acheive SC Clearance
