About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to join a dynamic team within the Supply Operations Team for one of our defence public sector clients. This role will play a crucial part in supporting submarine maintenance periods by ensuring essential stores support and proactive planning to prevent supply-related delays. You will be responsible for stakeholder engagement, data analysis, and decision-making to enhance operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in monitoring budgetary expenditure.
- Utilise IT systems and communication tools to track daily operations and performance.
- Support the day-to-day management of in-service support delivery within the Supply Operations Team.
- Monitor, analyse, and interpret data to identify trends, risks, and issues.
- Ensure the timely provision of materials and contribute to efficient operations in line with customer requirements and delivery plans.
- Manage risks, issues, and dependencies while effectively communicating changes with stakeholders.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Experience of stakeholder management and delivering customer service.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams).
- Demonstrable ability to review and interpret data.
- Experience in customer service.
- Strong problem-solving skills and an analytical mindset.
Additional Role-Specific Responsibilities:
- Provide alternative procurement and stores support to enhance team agility in addressing emergent demands that require bespoke approaches and rapid solutions.
- Work closely with Joint Project Teams (JPTs) to mitigate supply chain challenges and improve submarine availability by reducing delays in Base Maintenance Periods (BMP).
- Improve team cohesion by supporting large engineering projects and handling complex store-related issues effectively.
- Interrogate LOG Inventory systems to determine stock availability and demand progression.
- Liaise with ship staff, maintenance managers, and inventory teams to enhance supply chain efficiency.
- Deliver performance reports by interpreting and analysing data to identify trends, risks, and issues.
