Job Opportunity: Design Manager

Are you an experienced Design Manager seeking an exciting new role? Join a dynamic team to oversee and guide a group of skilled CAD designers on both new and existing products and projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Team Leadership: Build and nurture a high-performing team.

  • Hands-On Management: Utilise your experience to lead and motivate team members, delivering creative and practical designs.

  • Quality Assurance: Collaborate with designers to ensure all designs incorporate necessary safety factors and meet their intended purpose.

  • Project Management: Achieve project targets for time, cost, and technical performance. Meet individual and departmental KPIs.

  • Stakeholder Meetings: Participate in meetings with customers, suppliers, and other departments to review design requirements, schemes, and progress.

  • Cross-Department Coordination: Work with all departments to ensure cost-effective and efficient designs for manufacturing and performance.

Knowledge Requirements:

Essential:

  • Proficient in CAD drawing software such as Solidworks (or similar).

  • Disciplined approach with a high level of accuracy.

  • Experience in construction or a related industry.

Desirable:

  • Fabrication experience, particularly with steel-work/metal components.

  • Experience working with third-party contractors and support services.

  • Knowledge of individual performance management techniques.

Salary:

£40,000 - £50,000 DOE
