If so, this could be a great role for you as we’re partnered with an exciting and expanding company in Hemel Hempstead as they look to add an ambitious studier to their team.About the Company:

The Role:Reporting into the Financial Controller, this role will be responsible for the preparation of monthly and annual statutory reporting in an efficient and controlled manner, limiting potential risks through robust process and procedures. This will suit a part qualified ACCA/CIMA studier with hands on experience in a similar month end accounting role who is keen to develop their career in a commercial environment.Key Responsibilities:
  • Assisting in the preparation of the monthly profit and loss, and balance sheet reports with variance analysis and accompanying commentary
  • Monthly ownership of various P&L cost Lines (rebates, marketing, deferred revenue, prepayments, fixed assets) for understanding and posting into the general ledger
  • Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations to review any risks and opportunities
  • Support the 13 week rolling cash forecast ensuring accuracy of data
  • Maintain fixed asset register including monthly processes and reconciliation
  • Assisting with the preparation of year-end accounts and statutory audit work papers
  • Assist with the development and delivery of financial policies, guidelines, and protocols to ensure the company complies with regulations and good financial practice.
  • Work closely with and support all areas of finance including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Credit Control and Financial Planning & Analysis
The Ideal Candidate:
  • Part Qualified CIMA/ACCA Accountant and actively studying
  • Previous experience in a similar month-end finance role
  • Passionate about continuous improvement with a commercial mindset
  • Intermediate Excel skills and the ability to process complex data sets
