A well-established Accountancy business based in Hemel Hempstead are looking for a Practice Accountant to support and manage an existing well-established team. You will be responsible for over seeing the accounts department and also take ownership of your own client portfolio. Suitable candidates will be qualified or part qualified ACCA with at least 5 years accountancy experience, including tax and payroll.

Duties
- Ensuring the smooth running of the Accounting department and overseeing Back Office Accounting Team
- Client management including filing and general administration of client companies
- Ensuring that all filing deadlines are adhered to
- Overseeing and assisting with the Back Office Accounting team
- Manage invoicing and debt collection process in department
- Complete ownership and overseeing of a portfolio of clients
- Incorporating companies
- Registering companies for VAT and PAYE and Corporation Tax
- Liaising with clients via telephone, e-mail and post
- Processing PAYE and VAT returns
- Processing of client payroll
- Bank and other reconciliations
- Adhering to all filing deadlines - which includes chasing clients for missing information
- Filing Annual Returns and end of year returns
- Meeting deadlines, such as the clearing of e-mails and post daily
- Communicating with HMRC on behalf of the client
Person Spec:
- Part-qualified/Qualified ACCA
- Experience in providing strategic consultancy such as business valuations
- Excellent attention to detail
- Excellent telephone manner
- Excellent level of literacy, written communication and analytical skills
- Excellent level of numeracy & commercial judgement
- 5 years accountancy, tax and payroll experience in accounting practice in a client facing role highly preferable
- Good experience of UKGAAP and accounts production
