A successful and expanding contract testing laboratory are seeking a Microbiology Technician to join the team at their site in Hemel Hempstead. The company offer testing and analytical services to the food industry.

This is a permanent role , initially Part Time hours, but there may be opportunity to transition to a full time hours in the future. Salary is prorated for part time, based on full time salary of £22,308pa

Role Overview

  • Prepare samples and reagents for laboratory testing
  • Perform extractions and minor Analysis of samples as required
  • Provide support in the Instrument room as required and under the supervision of Senior Staff.
  • Ensure all work areas are kept clean and tidy and well stocked of Lab consumables
  • To ensure all work is conducted in line with Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) and UKAS 17025.
  • Permanent, Part Time Role.

Requirements

  • An interest in Microbiology and desire to work within a Laboratory.
  • Excellent Communication Skills and Attention to Detail.
  • Proactive and analytical approach to work.
  • Education in a Scientific Discipline would be highly beneficial but is not a necessity.
  • Some experience in a lab environment either from an academic or commercial/industrial setting would be highly beneficial.
