My client who operates within the Civil, Structural, Geotechnical, and Infrastructure Engineering sector are looking for a Structural Engineer in their office in Hemel Hampstead. The Structural Engineer will be working on projects large and small across most sectors including commercial, R&D, energy and residential new build and refurbishment projects The Ideal Structural Engineer will be degree qualified in a course that is recognised be IStructE as well as having at least 2 years PGE

Assistant Structural Engineer Job Overview
  • Work on a wide range of interesting projects across various sectors
  • Prepare an outline brief, visit site, review information including planning history and services
  • Carry out structural designs in steel, concrete, timber, and masonry.
  • Prepare technical details for Architectural design and prepare technical specifications
  • Liaise and attend meetings with Architects, clients, subcontractors and other professionals
  • Represent the business, in a professional and courteous way
  • Conduct site visits to assess projects and ensure adherence to design specifications.
  • Assessing the sustainability and environmental impact of projects
  • Making sure the project complies with statutory requirements
  • Complying to Health and Safety and CDM regs
  • Work towards Chartership (IStructE/ICE) with our suppor
Assistant Structural Engineer Job Requirements
  • Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering
  • Working towards Chartered status
  • Minimum of 2 years'+ post-qualification experience in structural design
  • Capability to prepare structural designs in all conventional materials
  • Experience in refurbishment projects
  • Have a global view of structural design on a project, identifying potential problems and solutions and providing advice to clients on design options
  • Talent to prepare schematic structural designs based on basic architectural layouts
  • An ability to write clear and concise e-mails, letters and reports
