Manufacturing precision gear splined and threaded components for our clients including Rolls Royce, Eaton, Collins Aerospace, Safran Power Systems, Meggitt and many more.
Position Summary
You will be part of a great team, working within a modern and clean environment, producing high precision parts and components for the Aerospace industry. The nature of the work is small to medium batch with medium to high complexity. The primary focus of this role is to undertake a programming/setting/operating function within the CNC Grinding department of the Gears division ensuring a consistent, flexible and responsive service is provided at all times to meet production schedules.
Key responsibilities
The key purpose of the role is to program, set and operate the machines within the CNC Grinding area.
- Able to program and set effectively to optimise cycle times
- Be aware of tooling available and utilise accordingly
- Ensure every job is clocked onto and time recorded
- Program and set machine within allocated time or improve where possible
- Ensure correct information logged on to tooling sheets including ensuring that any amendments are updated accordingly
- Able to recall saved programs and ensuring any amendments to program are correctly saved
- Ensure component submitted for first off inspection meets drawing requirements first time
- Where practical, pre-set/program ready for next job

Experience and skills required
- Experience with programming, setting and operating Studer CNC Grinders and manual machines
- Have some understanding of mathematical concepts required (e.g. trigonometry)
- Experience of working in a manufacturing environment
- Commercial awareness and professionalism
- A good standard of general education with basic computer and numerical skills
- Astute attention to detail with steady hand-eye coordination
- Good organisational skills, methodical and accurate
- Good communications skills (written & verbal)
- Ability to work to tight tolerances without supervision
- Ability to work under pressure and problem-solve
- Demonstrate integrity in all aspects of the role
- A flexible approach to the role to meet changing business demands which may include overtime attendance to suit the production plans and priorities.
- Ability to work on own initiative but willing to work as a team to achieve objectives of division.

Working 39.5 hours a week from 8.00 am to 4.30 pm Monday to Thursday, and 8.00 am to 4.00 pm on Fridays (30 mins for lunch)
