Our client, a leading manufacturer of Aerospace mechanical precision components, is looking for a CNC Grinder to join their innovative manufacturing team in Hemel Hempstead.

Summary:

Join a skilled team producing precise aerospace components. You'll focus on programming, setting, and operating CNC grinding machines for small to medium, complex batches, ensuring efficient and flexible support to meet production schedules.

Key Responsibilities:

The key purpose of the role is to program, set and operate the machines within the CNC Grinding area.

  • Optimise cycle times through effective programming and setting.
  • Use available tooling effectively.
  • Record time for every job and log accurate tooling details.
  • Program and set machines within allocated time, improving when possible.
  • Save and update programs correctly.
  • Ensure components meet drawing specifications on the first submission.
  • Where practical, pre-set/program ready for next job

Experience and Skills Required:

  • Skilled in programming, setting, and operating Studer CNC grinders and manual machines.
  • Basic knowledge of mathematical concepts (e.g., trigonometry).
  • Manufacturing experience with professionalism and commercial awareness.
  • Strong computer and numerical skills.
  • Good attention to detail and steady hand-eye coordination.
  • Methodical, organised, and accurate.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work on own initiative but willing to work as a team to achieve objectives of division.
  • Ability to work under pressure and problem-solve.
  • Flexible and adaptable to changing business needs, including overtime to support production plans and priorities.

Benefits:

  • Salary: 41,080-47,242, based on experience. Overtime paid at time and a half. Discretionary site bonus scheme and pay reviews.
  • Hours: 39.5 hours per week (Mon-Thurs 8:00 am - 4:30 pm, Fri 8:00 am - 4:00 pm, with a 30-minute lunch break).
