Our client, a leading manufacturer of Aerospace mechanical precision components, is looking for a Skilled CNC Turner to join their innovative manufacturing team in Hemel Hempstead.

Summary:

We are seeking a Skilled CNC Turner experienced with both conventional CNC Lathes and multi-tasking CMZ twin-spindle mill/turn machines. In this role, you will work closely with Planning, Quality, and other teams to develop and refine manufacturing methods for new product introductions. Your skills will be essential in creating both prototype and repeat components with high precision and quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Program, set, and operate Takisawa CNC Lathes and CMZ Mill/Turn machines using Fanuc control (G & M codes), FAPT, and Manual Guide-I.
  • Maintain precision tolerances typically of +/- .001” (0.025mm) and occasionally as tight as +/- .0005” (0.0125mm).
  • Accurately track job timings using the company's ERP system, Javelin, including scanning on and off jobs.
  • Uphold 6S standards on the shop floor.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives, from minor tweaks to complete re-engineering of processes.

Experience and Skills Required:

  • Previous experience in the aerospace or a similar high-precision industry is essential.
  • Strong proficiency in programming Fanuc control machinery (G & M codes), FAPT, and Manual Guide-I.
  • Experience with Edgecam is preferred.
  • Ability to work with a variety of materials, including Stainless Steel, Nylon, Titanium, Inconel, and Aluminium.
  • Either apprentice-trained or qualified through extensive experience.

  • Salary: £32,864 - £36,972, based on experience. Overtime paid at time and a half. Discretionary site bonus scheme and pay reviews.
  • Hours: 39.5 hours per week (Mon-Thurs 8:00 am - 4:30 pm, Fri 8:00 am - 4:00 pm, with a 30-minute lunch break).
