Job Description:

Skilled CNC Turner Programmer, Setter, Operator (Fanuc)

Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled CNC Turner with experience on both conventional CNC Lathes and multi-tasking CMZ twin-spindle mill/turn machines to join our Hemel Hempstead based client's innovative manufacturing team. You will collaborate with Planning, Quality, and various other teams on new product introduction to develop and refine manufacturing methods for their customers' designs. Your expertise will be crucial in producing both prototype and repeat work, ensuring the highest precision and quality.

Responsibilities

  • Program, set, and operate Takisawa CNC Lathes and CMZ Mill/Turn machines to produce components to customer specifications using Fanuc control (G & M codes), FAPT and Manual Guide-I.
  • Work with typical tolerances of +/- .001” (0.025mm) and occasionally +/- .0005” (0.0125mm).
  • Accurately record job timings within the company's ERP system, Javelin, including scanning on and off jobs.
  • Maintain 6s standards on the shop floor.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities to enhance processes through minor tweaks or complete re-engineering.

Experience and Skill Required

  • Previous aerospace or similar industry experience is required.
  • High degree of proficiency in programming Fanuc control machinery (G & M codes), FAPT and Manual Guide-I.
  • Edgecam experience preferred.
  • Experience working with various materials such as Stainless Steel, Nylon, Titanium, Inconel, and Aluminium, maintaining typical tolerances of +/- .001” (0.025mm) and occasionally +/- .0005” (0.0125mm).
  • Either apprentice trained or qualified by experience.
