We are currently working with a fantastic client based in Hemel Hempstead who is looking to recruit an experienced Credit Control Supervisor or a Senior Credit Controller to join their finance team.

You'll be joining a small, collaborative finance team where you'll take ownership of your own customer accounts, while also providing support and mentorship to other credit controllers.
The ideal candidate will be a confident, positive, and self-motivated professional who brings a proactive approach and a passion for developing others. You'll need to demonstrate strong experience in either a senior-level credit control role or a sole charge credit control position.
This is a customer-facing role that works closely with other departments across the business, so strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills are essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Full responsibility for your own ledger/accounts receivable
- Chasing outstanding payments via phone, email, and written correspondence
- Managing and escalating overdue debts
- Month-end reporting and reconciliation processes
- Attending and contributing to debt review meetings
- Supporting and mentoring junior team members
- Ledger reconciliations and accurate note keeping
- New account setup, including credit checks and applications
- Reviewing and advising on bad debts
Key Skills & Experience:
- Exceptional attention to detail and high levels of accuracy
- Naturally inquisitive with strong problem-solving ability
- Highly organised, self-starting, and able to manage workload independently
- Resilient and proactive in approach
- Strong communication skills - in person, on the phone, and via email
- Minimum of 4 years' experience in a dedicated credit control role
- Previous experience in a senior or supervisory position desirable
- Proven track record of managing customer relationships and influencing stakeholders at all levels
- Ideally degree-educated and/or ICM qualified (or equivalent experience)
