A dynamic start-up based in Hemel Hempstead is seeking a motivated Finance Analyst / Trainee Finance Business Partner to join their team and work closely alongside the Finance Business Partner. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to grow their career in finance, with a potential permanent opportunity for the right candidate.

The role is available for immediate start and will initially be offered on a temporary basis, with the possibility of becoming a permanent position for the right individual.

Role Overview: In this role, you will be instrumental in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of key financial processes, including month-end reporting, balance sheet reconciliations, and cash flow management. While these responsibilities will be core to your role, every day will bring new challenges, so we're looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, changing environment. This role is ideal for someone with experience working in a role that completed management accounts and is looking to transition into a more varied opportunity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee month-end journals, including accruals, prepayments, and adjustments
  • Perform balance sheet reconciliations
  • Prepare and report on cash flow
  • Assist in the preparation and analysis of the budget
  • Contribute to the implementation of new financial processes
  • Support the business with the transition to a new ERP system

Key Person Specification:

  • Proven experience in month-end reporting
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively
  • Adaptable and proactive in the face of change
  • Solution-focused and always looking for ways to improve
  • Eagerness to learn and develop professionally
  • A strong team player with a collaborative mindset
  • Finance-related qualification (AAT or part-qualified ACCA or CIMA)
