About the role:
- Provide interactive, hands-on learning experiences that inspire students to explore, create, and refine their design skills.
- Develop and deliver a dynamic DT curriculum that meets educational standards while sparking innovation and originality.
- Oversee the organization and upkeep of tools, equipment, and materials to ensure a productive and well-equipped learning space.
- Prioritize safety by teaching proper tool usage, enforcing safety procedures, and fostering a secure workshop environment.
- Foster a classroom environment that encourages creativity and analytical thinking, empowering students to bring their ideas to life with confidence.
- Build a positive and collaborative atmosphere that supports the well-being of students and staff, emphasizing open communication and teamwork.
The ideal candidate must:
- Have the right to work within the UK
- Have experience working within a classroom
- DBS registered on the update system or willing to purchase one
- Be comfortable and adaptable working in different environments
- Strong knowledge of the Design Technology curriculum.
- Have strong classroom management skills.
- A QTS or PGCE or overseas trained teacher to UK equivalent
- Marking and planning are compulsory with this role
