We are seeking an Inventory Manager to oversee and manage our inventory processes. This role is crucial for ensuring accurate inventory records, optimizing stock levels, and streamlining warehouse operations. The Inventory Manager will be responsible for conducting regular stock takes, analysing inventory data, and implementing strategies to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
Day-to-day of the role:- Inventory Control: Oversee day-to-day inventory operations, ensuring accurate stock levels are maintained and discrepancies are identified and addressed promptly.
- Stock Replenishment: Collaborate with procurement and suppliers to ensure timely stock replenishment, preventing stockouts and overstock situations.
- Data Management: Utilise the Warehouse Management System (WMS) to accurately track inventory movements, maintain precise records, and ensure system data integrity.
- Team Leadership: Manage, guide, and develop the inventory team to ensure the effective execution of inventory-related tasks and foster continuous improvement.
- Reporting & Analysis: Prepare and present detailed inventory reports, analysing stock trends, turnover rates, and areas for process optimization.
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement improvements in inventory processes to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and overall stock management.
- Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure that inventory handling, storage, and related processes comply with all health and safety regulations.
- Cross-Department Collaboration: Work closely with logistics, procurement, and other operational teams to ensure smooth and efficient stock flow across the distribution centre.
- A deep foundational knowledge of warehouse operations.
- Ability to see the bigger picture and make decisions under pressure.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy to ensure precise inventory records and minimize errors.
- Highly organised with strong time-management skills.
- Proficiency in inventory management software to efficiently manage inventory data and generate reports.
- Knowledge of supply chain and logistics processes to understand the flow of goods and optimize inventory levels.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to inventory control to ensure safe and compliant warehouse operations.
- Intermediate MS Office skills (Excel / Word / PowerPoint).
