Job Opportunity: M&E Supervisor

Role Overview: As an M&E Supervisor, you will be responsible for delivering maintenance to SFG-20 and manufacturer’s guidance, as well as providing remedial and reactive services to a professional standard. Your role will include:

  • Adopting a proactive and innovative approach to service delivery.
  • Embracing and promoting the Birdsall culture and safety standards.
  • Ensuring routine services, maintenance, and repairs are carried out in line with SLA’s.
  • Conducting regular site walk-arounds with Client Site Supervisors.
  • Mentoring engineers and apprentices, and building excellent working relationships with them.
  • Utilizing and understanding a CAFM system.
  • Delivering planned preventative maintenance on schedule.
  • Providing technical support and resolving on-site issues.
  • Completing service reports accurately and on time.
  • Producing quality reports and quotations within agreed time frames.
  • Communicating effectively with customers and building strong relationships.
  • Managing site assets and verifying new and existing sites.
  • Conducting Toolbox Talks and being part of an on-call rota.
  • Contributing to the productivity and profit of your team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Elevating team skill levels and continuously striving to raise standards.
  • Ensuring engineers follow SOPs and use the Eagle app correctly.
  • Conducting regular audits and ensuring engineers have the correct PPE.
  • Acting as a mentor and monitoring engineers’ timekeeping.
  • Managing site critical spares and holding regular team meetings.
  • Working on all types of mechanical and electrical assets.
  • Handling reactive callouts, troubleshooting, and resolving faults.
  • Producing quotations for additional works and managing subcontractors.
  • Overseeing Health & Safety in line with client systems.

Qualifications:

  • A time-served mechanical/electrical apprenticeship.
  • City & Guilds or equivalent in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering.
  • HNC/HND (desirable).
  • Minimum six years’ experience in the field.

Skills and Attributes:

  • Enthusiastic, organized, and results-driven.

  • Confident working on complex mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Skilled in plastic fusion welded pipework, press fit, screwed, and soldered pipework and fittings.
  • Experienced in pump overhauls, BMS systems, and fault diagnosis.
  • IT literate and comfortable with electronic works management systems (CAFM).
  • Positive ‘Can Do’ attitude and ability to seek out new opportunities.
