Managing Quantity Surveyor - Hemel Hempstead, Herts

Salary: Up to £100K + full benefits package

Are you an experienced or Senior Quantity Surveyor ready to take the next step into commercial leadership? This is an exciting opportunity to lead a high-performing team, drive financial efficiency, and play a strategic role in delivering top-tier projects.

Your Role:

As Managing Quantity Surveyor, you will move beyond project-based tasks to provide strategic oversight across commercial operations. You will ensure financial accuracy, mentor rising talent, and drive process improvements within a respected Main Contractor.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Price works using the contract schedule of rates.
  • Manage early warnings, compensation events & quotations.
  • Oversee subcontractor payments and build strong supply chain partnerships.
  • Represent the business in client & stakeholder meetings.
  • Conduct CVRs and identify key data gaps.
  • Review project data, ensuring accuracy & consistency.
  • Sign off payment notices and oversee financial forecasting.
  • Mentor & develop Quantity Surveyors, strengthening the team’s expertise.

What we are looking for:

  • 5+ years’ experience in Quantity Surveying
  • Strong expertise in cost control, budgeting & forecasting
  • Experience in the Social Housing sector (preferred)
  • Must be UK-based and within 90 minutes of Hemel Hempstead
