Pertemps are seeking dedicated and hardworking Refuse HGV Drivers to join the Waste Services team of a local authority. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving a Class 2 vehicle in and around Hemel Hempstead, ensuring the efficient collection and transportation of waste. Additionally, the driver will assist with loading waste into the vehicle, working closely with the waste collection team.


Pay is 16 per hour paid weekly.


Early morning starts


Key Responsibilities:

  • Safely operate Class 2 Vehicle in accordance with road safety regulations and council policies
  • Navigate designated routed in Hemel Hempstead to collect waste from residential and commercial properties
  • Collect and load refuse, recycling, and garden waste from residential properties into collection vehicle.
  • Operate compactors and other equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Ensure that all waste is collected in accordance with the council's guidelines and schedules.
  • Report any issues or incidents to the supervisor promptly.
  • Maintain a high standard of customer service when interacting with residents.
  • Adhere to health and safety regulations and council policies at all times.

Requirements:

  • Valid Class 2 Licence and up to date CPC card
  • Physical fitness and the ability to perform manual handling tasks.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Reliability and punctuality.
  • A positive attitude and willingness to work in all weather conditions.
  • Previous experience in a similar role is desirable but not essential.
