We are actively looking for a Finance Associate for our client in the Hemel Hempstead area.Your primary role is to manage the credit control and purchase ledger function supporting the finance team and the wider organisation. Key responsibilities includeCredit Control

  • Evaluate customer credit status and set appropriate credit limits.
  • Manage outstanding debt and ensure timely payments.
  • Maintain customer accounts to prevent unnecessary payment delays.
  • Issue credit notes and reinvoices as required.
  • Process and allocate daily bank payments.
Accounts Payable:
  • Communicate with suppliers to process invoices and resolve queries.
  • Perform monthly supplier statement reconciliations.
  • Ensure timely approval and processing of supplier payments in line with company policies.
  • Investigate and resolve outstanding creditor items.
Financial Analysis & Reporting:
  • Assist in financial data analysis to identify trends and support decision-making.
  • Contribute to budget preparation and forecasting.
  • Support financial reporting by ensuring accuracy in transactions and reconciliations.
Risk & Cash Flow Management:
  • Identify and assess financial risks, recommending proactive mitigation strategies.
  • Assist in managing cash flow to ensure financial stability.
  • Collaborate with the finance team to enhance financial controls and efficiencies.
Annual Responsibilities:
  • Assist with financial audit preparation and participate in audit processes.
Requirements:
  • Strong understanding of financial principles, bookkeeping, costing, and the business environment.
  • Professional accounting qualifications such as ACCA or CIMA (or working towards certification).
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders professionally and persistently.
  • Meticulous attention to detail to ensure accuracy in financial reporting and transactions.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Competency in accounting-based software and CRM systems.
