Role Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our dynamic Inclusion Base team. The successful candidate will work alongside our experienced Behaviour Mentor to deliver targeted Maths and English lessons to small groups and on a 1:1 basis, primarily for Key Stage 3 students.

Key Responsibilities

  • Instruction: Deliver engaging Maths and English lessons to small groups and individual students, tailoring content to meet their specific needs and abilities.
  • Support: Collaborate with the Behaviour Mentor to provide additional support and intervention strategies, ensuring all students can access the curriculum and achieve their best.
  • Assessment: Monitor and assess student progress, providing regular feedback to students, teachers, and parents.
  • Behaviour Management: Implement and uphold the school's behaviour policies, working closely with the Behaviour Mentor to manage and support students effectively.
  • Communication: Maintain clear and open communication with teachers, parents, and external agencies to support student learning and wellbeing.

Essential Criteria

  • Qualification: HLTA status or equivalent qualification.
  • Experience: Proven experience in delivering Maths and English lessons, preferably within a Key Stage 3 setting.
  • Skills: Strong classroom management skills and the ability to engage and motivate students.
  • Passion: A genuine passion for supporting students with diverse learning needs and abilities.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively within a team and contribute to a positive school ethos.
