We have a lovely role supporting our 25-year-old client. L has an acquired brain injury, but this does not get in the way of his enjoyment of various activities such as indoor skiing, football and trampolining, he loves being out and about and like any young man enjoys music. The Role/Client:
L lives with his parents and brother and often enjoys trips out to events in his adapted automatic vehicle.
L has an acquired brain injury and is non-verbal. L is a full-time wheelchair user and has a peg feed for all meals. Part of this role will be driving L to his activities and appointments and assisting with feeding. L also requires help with all aspects of daily living including personal care.
L has a lovely personality he can occasionally become a little frustrated and agitated as would be expected, with the care of his family and support team these infrequent moods are overcome. Mum and Dad are very involved with L’s care they have assistance from a case manager who assist in management of his care support team.
About You:
A caring personality and willingness to learn about our client’s needs are key. Full training will be provided.Â
You will need to be a driver to drive our client’s wheelchair adapted automatic vehicle however, you do not need to have your own vehicle as our client’s home is only a 20-minute walk from the train station/bus stop.
L loves swimming so you would need to feel comfortable supporting him in the pool which is waist-height, but you don’t need to be a swimmer.
You will be an animal lover with no allergies as the family have 3 cats and a dog.
You will provide a supportive, engaging approach to our client by working alongside team members, following his care plan and assisting with his therapy and activities program.
You will be kind, positive, reliable, and able to build a relationship of trust with our client and family.
Pay – Year 1 with a probationary period of 6 months:
£ 15   per hour Weekdays
£ 17   per hour Weekends
£ 20  per hour Bank Holidays
£11.44 (NLW) Resting night period, 10 pm – 6 am  Monday – Sunday nights
Payrates are reviewed yearly
Hours / Shifts available:

Wednesday & Thursday - 8 am – 10.30 am (2.5 hours)
Thursday & Friday – 3 pm -9 pm (6 hours)
Alternate or every Sunday 10 am – 6 pm (8 hours)
Total up to 19 hours per week
Over time or bank contracts available to cover additional shifts:
Saturday  8am - 1 pm (4 hours) &   1- 9 pm (8 hours)
Resting nights   9 pm - 8 am (11 hours)
morning     8 am - 10.30 am (2.5 hours)
evenings    3 pm - 9 pm (6 hours)
Our posts will require an enhanced Adult DBS certificate, 2 written references arranged by the employer. This is a non-smoking environment, at all times.
