Learning Support Assistant – Year 1 (Autism Support)
Location: Hemel Hempstead
Salary: Competitive, based on experience
Contract: Full-time, Temporary (ASAP Start)
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join a welcoming primary school in Hemel Hempstead, starting ASAP. This role will involve providing 1:1 support to a Year 1 student with Autism, helping them to engage with their learning and thrive in the classroom environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored support to a Year 1 student with Autism, helping them to access the curriculum.
- Assist with the development of communication and social skills in a supportive environment.
- Help manage the classroom, ensuring that all students are supported and engaged.
- Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement personalized learning strategies.
- Foster an inclusive, positive, and nurturing environment for all students.

- Experience supporting children with Autism, ideally within a primary school setting (though training can be provided).

- Patience, empathy, and strong communication skills.
- Ability to work as part of a team and collaborate with teachers and other support staff.
- A caring and proactive approach to supporting students’ needs.
