We’re seeking dedicated and compassionate Education Assistants within Hemel Hempstead to support neurodivergent young people on a one-to-one basis in their family home and the wider Hertfordshire community.

About the Role:
As an Education Assistant, you’ll:
- Work closely with the young person to create meaningful and engaging learning opportunities.
- Use low-arousal and low-demand approaches to ensure a supportive environment tailored to their unique needs.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver a provision aligned with the young person’s EHCP outcomes.
- Facilitate smooth transitions between activities and support them in overcoming challenges related to anxiety and school-based trauma.
Education Assistant - Key Requirements:
We’re looking for someone who is:
- Available Monday to Friday during school hours and term-time (flexibility for part-time applicants).
- Calm, adaptable, and approachable with a positive and friendly attitude.
- Experienced in working one-to-one with neurodivergent children, particularly those with ADHD or a demand avoidant profile.
- Familiar with supporting children in family home settings and navigating challenges related to transitions and anxiety.
- Comfortable driving and using their car as part of the role (mileage expenses reimbursed).
Education Assistant - Preferred Experience & Skills:
- Experience working as part of a multidisciplinary team and reporting progress to coordinators or teachers.
- Knowledge of preparing young people for adulthood.
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
Education Assistant - Qualifications & Essential Criteria:
- A full, clean driver’s license and access to a car (essential).
- Teaching assistant (or equivalent) qualification (desirable).
- Level 1 safeguarding qualification (desirable; training provided if needed).
- Advanced DBS check on the Update Service (ideal; provided if not already held).
- First aid training qualification (ideal; provided if needed).
