Learning Support Assistant

LSA required - Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire - £90 per day - September Start - Excellent training and development - One to one support role

The Learning Support Assistant will work closely with several remarkable students with varying degree's of autism. The role is crucial in helping these students navigate their academic journey while supporting social and emotional development. Tailored support and encouragement are key components to empower the student to achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build a trusting and empathetic relationship with the student.
  • Collaborate with the class teacher to create individualised learning plans.
  • Implement strategies to promote academic progress.
  • Assist the student with daily tasks.
  • Create a nurturing and inclusive environment.
  • Monitor and document the student's progress.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Previous experience with students with autism or special educational needs is desirable.
  • Strong understanding of autism spectrum disorders.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to remain calm in challenging situations.
  • Flexibility and adaptability.
