About the role:

  • Support children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in their learning and development, helping them engage with the curriculum in a tailored, supportive environment.
  • Implement individualized strategies and interventions to manage behaviour and promote social, emotional, and academic growth.
  • Work closely with the class teacher and SEN team to track progress and adapt learning plans to meet the specific needs of each child.
  • Encourage positive interactions and communication among students, fostering a safe and inclusive atmosphere in the classroom.
  • Assist with daily routines and personal care, ensuring students are supported in all aspects of their school day, both academically and socially.

The ideal candidate must:

  • Have the right to work within the UK
  • DBS registered on the update system or willing to purchase one
  • Have experience working with students who have Autism
  • Be comfortable and adaptable working in different environments
  • Be able to support the teacher in and around the classroom
  • Work with small groups of children
