Job Description:
We are seeking a compassionate, dedicated, and experienced SEN Teacher to join our team at our specialist school in Hemel Hempstead, supporting students with Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD), Severe Learning Disabilities (SLD), and Autism. This role is available for an immediate start or for a September start, depending on availability.

As an SEN Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering tailored learning plans to support students with complex needs. You will work in a nurturing and supportive environment, where each child is provided with the individualized care and attention they deserve to make progress and thrive.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons to students with PMLD, SLD, and Autism.

  • Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages personal growth and development.

  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to the needs of each student.

  • Provide personalized support to students, helping them to develop life skills, communication, and social interaction.

  • Work closely with the multi-disciplinary team, including teaching assistants, therapists, and support staff, to ensure the best outcomes for each student.

  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback to parents, carers, and colleagues.

  • Promote positive behavior management strategies and provide pastoral care to students.

  • Contribute to the wider school community and collaborate with colleagues to continuously improve teaching practices.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.

  • Experience working with students with PMLD, SLD, and Autism in a special educational needs (SEN) setting.

  • A compassionate and patient approach, with a deep understanding of the challenges faced by students with complex needs.

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues.

  • Experience with creating and implementing IEPs and tailored learning plans.

  • Knowledge of and commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students.

  • A desire to make a real difference in the lives of children with SEN.
