Job Summary

An outstanding post 16 provision is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Speech Therapist to join their team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and treating individuals with speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders. This role requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, physiology, and anatomy to provide effective therapy tailored to each individual's needs.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients' speech and language abilities.
  • Develop and implement individualised treatment plans based on assessment results.
  • Provide therapy sessions to improve communication skills and swallowing functions.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure holistic patient care.
  • Educate clients and their families about speech disorders and treatment options.
  • Maintain accurate records of patient progress and treatment outcomes.
  • Stay updated on the latest research and techniques in speech therapy.

Experience & Qualifications

  • Proven experience in speech therapy or a related field is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology relevant to speech therapy practices.
  • Understanding of physiology and anatomy as it pertains to speech and swallowing functions.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage effectively with patients of all ages.
