Hours: Mon-Fri 9am-17:30pm (Hybrid)

Due to continued growth plans, we are now hiring for an experienced ocean import Operator to join our dedicated Import department based from our East Midlands Btanch.

The ideal candidate will have a background working within freight forwarding managing end-to-end ocean import consignments from origin through to final delivery.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Manage and oversee the import process for sea freight shipments from origin to delivery
  • Liaise with our overseas offices & agents arranging shipments.
  • Negotiate rates with suppliers to optimise cost-effectiveness for clients.
  • Select contracts/carriers which best suit the client's needs.
  • Quote clients and monitor the market rates
  • Monitor shipments status and provide regular updates to clients.
  • Ensure customs department have the correct documentation for customs clearance.
  • Liaise with suppliers/hauliers ensuring smooth delivery of cargo
