They are a leading importer/wholesaler in the UK that has grown to be one of the largest companies in the home goods sector. About the Role:
We are looking for a strategic and results-driven Operations Director to lead and optimise our warehouse and transport operations. This role will focus on improving efficiencies, cost control, and team leadership to ensure smooth and effective logistics operations. The successful candidate will have two direct reports and oversee a wider team of around 40 indirect reports.

Key Responsibilities:

• Warehouse & Transport Efficiencies: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance productivity, streamline workflows, and reduce operational costs.
• Data & Performance Analysis: Use strong numerical and analytical skills to monitor KPIs, assess performance, and make data-driven decisions.
• Leadership & Team Management: Lead and develop two direct reports while overseeing a wider team of 40 indirect reports, fostering a culture of accountability and high performance.
• Strategic Planning: Align operational strategies with business objectives and long-term growth plans.
• Cost Control & Budgeting: Manage budgets effectively, ensuring cost efficiency across transport and warehousing operations.
• Compliance & Safety: Ensure all operations comply with industry regulations, health & safety standards, and company policies.

What We're Looking For:

• Proven experience as an Operations Director, ideally within logistics, warehousing, or transport.
• Strong financial acumen, with the ability to analyse numbers and drive cost-effective solutions.
• Excellent people management skills, with experience leading large operational teams.
• A proactive and strategic mindset, with the ability to drive continuous improvement.
• Strong knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) and transport operations.
