Job Title: CNC Milling Setter/Operators

My client a dynamic organization is looking for a CNC machinist to join their team in Gloucester. To work across diverse, high-impact industries such as aerospace, defence, and high-performance automotive. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting and operating a range of milling machines, primarily milling centres and routers with Fanuc/Haas controls. You will be expected to ensure the production of high-quality components that meet customer specifications, with a focus on precision and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities - CNC Milling Â
- Set and operate CNC milling machines, primarily Haas and Fanuc-controlled machines.
- Read and work from technical drawings to ensure proper machine setup and component production.
- Load and edit NC programs on the machine controls as required.
- Prepare and load materials and components for machining operations.
- Ensure work is produced within specified tolerances and quality standards.
- Perform inspections and measurements on finished components, recording results on in-process inspection sheets.
- Utilize the ERP system (IFS) for daily responsibilities and tasks.
- Report any machine or production issues promptly to the Supervisor/Manager.
- Maintain a proactive approach to Health & Safety, ensuring both personal and team safety.
- Be flexible with duties and take on additional tasks that align with the role.
- Adhere to all company policies and maintain a positive working environment.

Qualifications & Requirements - CNC Milling
- Proven experience in setting and operating CNC milling machines, specifically routers and milling centres.
- Completed a relevant apprenticeship in engineering or hold a minimum of Level 3 NVQ or City & Guilds in a related field (desirable).
- Hands-on experience producing precision components from composite materials, aluminium, and plastics.
- Confident and independent operation of Fanuc/Haas-controlled machines.
- Ability to load and edit NC programs on the machine control.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings.
- Strong understanding of M and G codes used in CNC programming.
- Knowledge of basic measurement principles and quality control standards.
- Ability to complete quality documentation and effectively communicate with supervisors and quality control teams.
- Familiarity with Health & Safety standards and a proactive approach to maintaining a safe working environment.
