Health, Safety and Wellbeing Manager - Our client is currently recruiting a Health, Safety and Wellbeing Manager to join their specialist Civil Engineering contracting business and are looking for someone in based in Henfield office. The company that the HSW Manager will be working for are a well-established Civil Engineering contractor, whom work on projects from conception through construction to project delivery. The companies' specialities span across a variety of different sectors including water and waste water, infrastructure and coastal protection.

Health, Safety and Wellbeing Manager Position Overview

  • Manage all aspects of Health, Safety & Wellbeing taking responsibility for all aspects of developing, implementing & maintaining H&S standards
  • Ensuring that staff are carrying out design and construction activities in accordance with CDM Regulations 2015 and the Contractor's Health and Safety Management Plan
  • Support the Client in their partnership with MIND to promote positive mental
  • Demonstrate compliance with best practice and meet or exceed all statutory obligations
  • Develop and implement plans for reward and recognition of HSW good practice or behaviour.
  • Coordinates drug and alcohol procedures to meet the screening, supporting and disciplining requirements described in the Contractor's corporate policies
  • Provides a progress update on HSW as part of Monthly Report including:
  • Ensure all H&S legislation and rules are followed.
  • Carry out site inspections & audits to ensure high standards & project targets are met
  • Investigate & report on all accidents, incidents & near misses
  • Establish & actively promote working relationships between all sites, through
  • effective communication & ensuring any procedures are followed.
  • Attend Health and Safety meetings.

Health, Safety and Wellbeing Manager Position Requirements

  • At least 5 years' experience in Civil Engineering
  • A recognised Health & Safety qualification - NEBOSH Construction or similar
  • Experience of managing multi-skilled teams, establishing performance expectations & Wellbeing initiatives
  • Understanding of the principles of H&S issues, compliance & legislation CSCS card and SEATS / Mental Health First Aid (desirable
  • CDM Regulations 2015 and the Contractor's Health and Safety Management Plan
  • Full driving licence
