About the Role
As the HSEQ Manager, you will take a leading role in managing Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality standards across the business. Our client is a tier 1 civil engineering contractor specialising in Coastal Protection, Fluvial, Ports & Harbours, Water Industry, and Infrastructure projects.

You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining the Quality Management System (QMS) and ensuring industry standards and legislation compliance. Collaborating with site teams, clients, senior leadership, and the board, you will play a crucial part in upholding the company's ISO certifications.

Key Responsibilities:
In this role, you will work to improve the company's existing QMS, aligning it with ongoing digitalisation efforts. You will be expected to develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) that measure Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality across the business, ensuring these are agreed upon with Directors. You will also plan and conduct audits to assess ISO compliance, driving continuous improvement.
Staying ahead of HSEQ-related legislation is vital to this role, and you will monitor legal developments to ensure the company remains compliant. When incidents occur, you will lead investigations to identify root causes and recommend corrective actions. You will also work closely with the Sustainability Committee to enhance the company's environmental performance, particularly around carbon reduction.
Managing a team of HSEQ professionals will be a key part of your responsibilities, ensuring high standards are maintained across all operations.

What Our Client is Looking For:
The ideal candidate will have over 10 years of experience in the construction industry, with a strong focus on civil engineering. You should be well-versed in managing Quality, Environmental, and Health & Safety Management Systems (ISO9001, ISO14001, ISO45001) and have a proven ability to lead and manage a team.
You will need a full driving license, a valid CSCS card, and recognised Health & Safety qualifications such as IOSH or NEBOSH. Membership in a relevant professional body, such as IOSH, IEMA, or IIRSM, is also required.

What Our Client Offers:
In return, our client offers a competitive salary package, flexible working arrangements with a blend of office and remote work, and opportunities for career development. You will also be able to actively participate in sustainability initiatives and contribute to the company's ongoing business growth.

Eligibility:
Applicants must be eligible to work in the UK without sponsorship and have relevant UK sector experience, typically 5-8 years.

Opportunity for Growth:
For the right candidate, our client is open to considering someone at an Assistant Manager level who is looking to step up into a managerial role, depending on experience and salary expectations.
