We are looking for a dedicated Special Needs Support Worker to join our team in Henfield. In this role, you will work closely with children who have a range of complex needs, including autism, ADHD, sensory processing challenges, and behavioral difficulties.

Key Responsibilities for a Special Needs Support Worker:
  • As a Special Needs Support Worker, you will provide tailored support to children who may display challenging behaviors, including physical outbursts, ensuring they feel safe, understood, and supported.
  • Assist children with specialised physical and medical needs, which may include tube feeding, while maintaining the highest level of care and sensitivity in all interactions.
  • Implement proactive strategies to manage and de-escalate challenging behaviors, creating a safe and positive environment for all children in the classroom.
  • Support children in developing social, emotional, and academic skills in line with their individualised education plans (IEPs).
  • Monitor and actively support the safety of children, particularly those with a tendency to run away. As a Special Needs Support Worker, you will play a vital role in ensuring each child's safety and well-being.
  • Collaborate closely with teachers, therapists, and other specialists to create an inclusive and nurturing learning environment, fulfilling your role as a Special Needs Support Worker.
Ideal Candidate for Special Needs Support Worker:
  • Experience: Prior experience working with children with special needs is essential, particularly those with autism, ADHD, or behavioral challenges.
  • Skills: Patient, adaptable, and calm, with strong communication and de-escalation abilities.
