Are you a proactive and commercially focused Financial Controller looking for your next challenge? We have an exciting opportunity for a qualified financial professional to join a dynamic team in Hengoed. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is eager to drive financial performance through strong reporting, forecasting, and process improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Forecasting & Scenario Planning: Lead the development of weekly, monthly, and annual forecasts. Conduct scenario planning to evaluate potential business outcomes and support strategic decision-making.
  • Financial Reporting & Analysis: Prepare and present timely financial statements and management reports. Deliver meaningful financial analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Business Decision Support: Act as a strategic partner to senior management, providing insights to optimize profitability and drive growth. Support pricing strategies, product costing, and operational decision-making.
  • Budgeting & Performance Monitoring: Oversee the preparation of the annual budget. Monitor performance against budgets and forecasts, providing variance analysis and actionable recommendations.
  • Internal Processes & Profitability Improvement: Lead initiatives to streamline internal processes, reduce inefficiencies, and improve overall profitability. Develop and enforce robust internal controls.
  • Cash Flow & Treasury Management: Manage cash flow forecasting to ensure sufficient liquidity. Oversee accounts payable and receivable, driving efficiencies in collections and payments.
  • Team Leadership & Development: Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team. Conduct performance reviews, set goals, and identify opportunities for team training and growth.

Requirements:

  • Must hold an ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent professional accounting qualification.
  • Proven experience in financial management roles within manufacturing, field service, or distribution businesses.
  • Ambitious for personal growth and eager to get involved commercially to drive business growth and profitability.
  • Exceptional forecasting and scenario planning skills, with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
  • Strong commercial focus, with a strategic mindset and a hands-on approach to operational challenges.
  • Demonstrated success in improving internal processes to enhance profitability and reporting accuracy.
  • Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems (experience with SAP or similar platforms preferred).
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.
  • Effective communicator with the ability to present complex financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
