Morson are recruiting on behalf a leading defence equipment manufacturers based in Henlow, Bedfordshire. This is a contract role although highly likely to be long-term

£17.80 per hour for the first 12 weeks rising to £18.80 per hour via PAYE (or £23.91 per hour for the first 12 weeks, rising to £25.26 per hour via Umbrella) **INSIDE IR35**

Overview of department:

Working within a state of the art defence manufacturing facility the role will involve issue, receipt and management of stores and inventory in a stores/lineside environment. Loading, control and monitoring of work packages in a manufacturing environment

Responsibilities:

  • Stock control / storekeeping including shelf life control
  • Loading the manufacturing cells with the requisite jobs in accordance with planned lead and cycle times, in order to comply with manufacturing programmes and delivery schedules
  • Packing including the use of hand tools. Receiving and issuing of tooling
  • Updating computer records
  • Kitting activity
  • Loading and unloading of Lorries

Skillset/experience required:

  • MUST have prior Stores/Inventory experience
  • Computer literate, comfortable and capable with software such as Microsoft Excel
  • Any familiarity with an Enterprise Planning System e.g. SAP, Oracle etc would be highly beneficial
  • Able to follow instructions
  • Willing to work flexible shift patterns
  • Attention to detail
  • Work on own with minimal supervision
  • Use own initiative
  • Fork lift truck licence would be beneficial
  • Any knowledge of Kanban and 2 bin systems would be desirable
