An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and commercially astute Financial Controller to take ownership of the finance function within a well-established and growing business. This hands-on role reports directly to senior leadership and offers the chance to shape financial strategy, drive efficiency, and support long-term business growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning to align with business objectives.
- Manage cash flow and working capital, optimising financial resources effectively.
- Maintain robust financial controls and ensure compliance with all regulatory and tax obligations.
- Drive process improvements to enhance efficiency across financial systems and reporting.
- Provide strategic financial insights to inform key business decisions.
- Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a high-performance culture.
- Manage internal and external audits, ensuring adherence to governance and statutory requirements.
Person Specification
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with a strong technical background.
- Proven experience in a senior finance role, ideally as a Financial Controller.
- Strong financial reporting and commercial finance expertise.
- Advanced Excel and IT skills.
- Background in practice training, followed by industry experience, preferred.
- Hands-on, detail-oriented, and proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to engage with senior stakeholders.
