Lead Reporting and Data Analyst - Local Government

Location: West Midlands | Hybrid (1 day per week on-site)

Rate: £400 per day | Contract Length: 3 Months

Salt Recruitment's Local Government contract team is currently supporting a West Midlands-based Local Authority in their search for an experienced Lead Reporting and Data Analyst. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a crucial role in overseeing statutory reporting for Children's Social Care, ensuring data accuracy, and leading a team of three Data Analysts.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead the design and maintenance of statutory and operational reporting for Children's Social Care
Manage and mentor a team of three Data Analysts, ensuring high-quality data outputs
Provide technical leadership in data warehousing, SQL scripting, and reporting
Develop Power BI dashboards and SSRS reports to support operational decision-making
Ensure data integrity and compliance with GDPR and other regulations
Work closely with Children's Services, Business Systems Analysts (Mosaic), and other departments to align reporting with service needs
Champion the use of agile methodologies within the team to improve efficiency

Essential Skills & Experience:

Proven experience in statutory reporting for Children's Social Care
Strong knowledge of data warehouse architecture and SQL scripting
Hands-on experience with Power BI dashboards and SSRS reporting
Familiarity with Children's Social Care case management systems (ideally Mosaic)
Previous experience managing a team of Data Analysts or similar roles
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
Ability to lead on BI and reporting solutions to drive service improvement

Contract Details:

Duration: 3-month initial contract (potential for extension)
Location: Hybrid - West Midlands (1 day per week on-site)
Rate: £400 per day (Inside IR35)
