Flourish Education is seeking a Key Stage 2 Teacher to work with a mixed Year 5/6 class at a small, faith-based primary school in Hereford. The school is community-oriented and dedicated to delivering high-quality education to all its students.

Our client is looking for an experienced Year 5/6 teacher to cover maternity leave from early February through the end of the academic year. This is a part-time role, requiring four days of work per week. The class consists of 10 Year 5 students and 22 Year 6 students, with a high proportion of pupils with ASD. However, the successful candidate will have the support of a full-time teaching assistant and an additional support assistant during the mornings.

This position is not suitable for Early Career Teachers (ECTs).

As a Key Stage 2 Teacher, your responsibilities will include:

  • Planning, preparing, and delivering engaging lessons aligned with the National Curriculum.
  • Full class responsibilities, including marking and assessments for progress.
  • Managing classroom behaviour with excellent behaviour management strategies.
  • Supporting Year 6 students in preparation for SATs.
  • Collaborating with colleagues to maintain high teaching standards in this Primary School.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) essential.
  • Proven experience as a Year 5/6 Class Teacher with strong SATs knowledge.
  • Familiarity with the Key Stage 2 (KS2) curriculum.
  • Exceptional organisational and classroom management skills.
  • Commitment to maintaining high standards of teaching and learning.
