Head of Financial Control and Reporting - Hereford - Hybrid - up to £70,000 per annum

Are you a seasoned senior leader looking for an exciting opportunity to shape the financial control and reporting landscape? We're seeking a dynamic individual to work closely with the Finance Director, driving efficiency and excellence in our financial processes. Due to the role's high level of interaction with stakeholders and the finance team, we're keen to have the successful candidate predominantly office-based.

Key Responsibilities:

As the Head of Financial Control and Reporting, you will:

  • Lead a talented team, fostering their growth and helping them achieve both personal and business goals through coaching and development.
  • Serve as a key business partner, providing expert advice on current and emerging financial accounting standards, and offer pragmatic solutions to mitigate risks.
  • Ensure the preparation and presentation of clear, accurate financial reports for internal and external stakeholders, maintaining full compliance with statutory and financial regulations.

More About the Role:

  • Provide strategic financial control direction to senior management, ensuring oversight of both current and future financial risks.
  • Act as the go-to expert on complex financial structures and disclosures, reviewing risks and offering sound, practical solutions.
  • Oversee the alignment of operational and commercial performance, supporting initiatives that track success and uncover further opportunities for growth.
  • Develop and implement strategies, policies, and procedures that optimize financial processes and ensure accuracy in financial statements.

What We're Looking For:

  • A qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA or equivalent) with extensive post-qualification experience.
  • Passion for finance with a deep understanding of the commercial landscape.
  • Proven leadership skills, with the ability to coach, engage, and lead your team to excellence.
  • A strong strategic mindset, coupled with outstanding interpersonal skills to communicate effectively across all levels of the business.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with a curiosity to drive innovation and continuous improvement in financial strategy.
  • Adaptability and agility to respond to business changes and realign financial activities as needed.
