Job Vacancy: Food Safety Inspector (Temporary Contract)


Contract Type: Initial Temporary Contract with Possibility of Extension

Working Hours: 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 09:00 - 17:30

Job Purpose:

You will be required to complete a full food hygiene and food standards inspection for each premises, including establishing the risk rating and FHRS and submitting copies of the completed intervention report and proforma (plus la etter if necessary)

The officemustto be food safety competent concerning Chapter 3.4 of the Food Law Code of Practice.

  • Higher Certificate in Food Control awarded by the Environmental Health Registration Board (EHRB) or CIEH
  • Higher Certificate in Official Control awarded by the Scottish Food Safety OfficersRegistration Board (SFSORB)
  • A Certificate of Registration awarded by the EHRB to practice as an Environmental Health Practitioner
  • A Diploma in Environmental Health awarded by the EHRB or the REHIS
  • Advanced Professional Certificate in Food Hygiene and Standards Control (APC) awarded by CIEH
  • Degree in Environmental Health
  • Masters Degree in Environmental Health
  • Environmental Health Practitioner (Integrated Degree) Apprenticeship

*Chapter 2, Article 59 of Regulation (EU) 2019/627. The suitable qualifications detailed in section 3.4.1 require the successful completion of all elements, including written exams, portfolios, oral exams, practical exams, and professional interviews, as specified by the awarding body.
