Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and manage the MFL department, driving excellence in teaching and learning
* Develop and implement the MFL curriculum, ensuring it meets the needs of all students and reflects the latest educational trends
* Inspire and motivate the MFL team, providing support and professional development to all staff
* Monitor and assess student progress, ensuring high standards and achievement across all key stages (KS3, KS4, and KS5)
* Lead departmental initiatives to promote a love of languages and cultural awareness across the school
* Manage resources effectively, including budgets and teaching materials
* Work collaboratively with other departments to enhance cross-curricular learning and global citizenship
Essential Criteria:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification
* A proven track record of success in teaching modern languages (French, Spanish, German, or other languages)
* Significant experience in leading or managing a department or team within education
* Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and lead by example
* Passion for modern languages and cultural diversity
* Excellent organisational and time-management skills
Desirable Criteria:
* Experience teaching at A-Level (French, Spanish, German, or other languages)
* Strong understanding of language assessment frameworks and strategies for raising achievement
* Ability to promote MFL across the whole school through extracurricular activities, trips, and events
