About the Role:

We have an exciting opportunity for a HR Advisor to join our team, providing professional, high-quality HR support to schools and academies. In this role, you will be a trusted advisor on a wide range of HR matters, delivering support through email, telephone, Teams, and on-site visits. You will manage complex employee relations casework, act as an investigating officer on various employment issues, conduct report writing, and attend formal meetings. Additionally, you’ll play an essential role in developing school-based HR policies, collaborating with Trade Union representatives, and designing/delivering training sessions on diverse HR topics.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert guidance on disciplinary, grievance, sickness absence management, TUPE, redundancy, appraisal, and capability cases.
  • Act as an investigating officer, preparing reports, and attending formal meetings.
  • Develop HR policies and procedures tailored to school needs, working closely with Trade Union representatives.
  • Design and deliver training sessions on a variety of HR topics to school clients.

About You:

We are seeking an experienced HR professional, preferably fully CIPD qualified or with equivalent experience, with a proven track record in complex HR casework. You should possess:

  • Strong employment law knowledge and excellent interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to make professional, on-the-spot decisions in challenging situations.
  • Experience in the schools’ sector and knowledge of school-specific legislation (e.g., Burgundy Book, School Teachers’ Pay & Conditions Document) is beneficial but not essential.
  • Flexibility to travel across Herefordshire to school sites on short notice, with your own transport for business use.
